Weather

The weather can make or break a trip to Kalalau.  There’s no way to determine the weather months ahead of time when you purchase your permit and plane tickets.  If your trip ends up being during a storm, the trail may be closed. If a storm comes while you are at Kalalau, you could be trapped behind a swollen stream. Don’t do something stupid and risk your life to catch a plane.  Plan ahead.  Make sure you leave plenty of time just in case.
